'Halftone'
@ Planthouse
Gallery
Title reference:
The halftone
relies on an
optical illusion:
tiny dots that
are blended into
smooth tones
by the human
eye.
It is the
basis of all
photographic
reproduction,
and artists
have long been
stripping away
and altering
the systems
that organize
these dots,
allowing them
the discretion to
subconsciously
direct the eye
of the viewer.
Featured
works:
Prints and
drawings by
artists working
with systems,
halftones, and
Ben-Day dots.
