‘Viruses Worth
Spreading’

‘Imagined in
a realm where
relationships
share equal
footing in the
virtual and real
world — somewhere
between online
stalking, love
letters, sexts
and selfies.’
The exhibition:
For her first solo
with Arsenal in
New York, London-
born multi-disciplinary
artist Hannah Perry
combines video,
sculpture, installation,
music & performance
to navigate a terrain
where taste and class
interlock, where
communicable and
shared aesthetics
are solidified, and
where identity is
performed.
Title meaning:
‘Viruses Worth
Spreading’ comes
from a line of a
script written by
Perry – conjuring
the clichéd image
of ‘the hysterical
woman’ who has
lost control.
—
“Voyeurism and
power plays are
unfortunately
something that
women have to
grapple with within
every area... being
unapologetic about
those experiences
is exactly what that
show was all about.”
