—
‘pond-love began
as an image of a
spiral, which then
transformed into the
ripples of a pond
surface disturbed by
a hand dipping into
the water’
Born:
1987 – Pullman,
Washington, USA.
‘pond-love’:
Is New York-based
Hsu's first solo with
Bortolami, featuring
a series of new works
on carpet & wood,
depicting green-hued
forms that exist
somewhere between
the material and
ethereal realms.
“Take the pond, if a
pond was a painting.
A pond is nothing
without the soil
around it, the water
that fills it, the murky
depth, the animals
which inhabit it and
the plants that grow
in and around it...”
