2-TIMES · Art
Caitlin Keogh,
Loose Ankles
@ Bortolami
—

Depicting,
dissecting, and
disseminating
the performative
construction
of self.
’

Born:
1982, Alaska.

The idea:
Keogh illustrates
broken bodies as
they move through
historical motifs &
compositions, posing
questions about the
stability of an artistic
subject and notions
of an expressive self –
tying the questions
together in the plain
–spoken dialect of
a sign-painter, and
incorporating feminine
yet sinister subjects.

The exhibition:
Is the Brooklyn-
based artist's first
solo at Bortolami,
presenting a new
series of large-format
paintings & drawings,
which engage in
metaphors of the
body’s interior as
a site of processing
and producing.
