2-TIMES · Art
Deanna Havas,
‘Due Diligence’
@ Ld50
—
“I wanted to look
at this liberal
mythology, and,
more importantly,
the transformation
of care. In their own
way, all the works
touch on that. This
anthropomorphizing
of inanimate objects,
this little world.”
Born:
1989, New York.
The exhibition:
Is Havas's first
solo in the UK,
presenting a
selection of
suitcase-sized or
foldable bodies of
work by the
itinerant artist,
including a series
of digital prints
on PVC & canvas,
(2) clay sculptures,
recycled HDPE
plastic, and a
macrame wall
hanging.
Deanna on
collection and
transformation:
“With my work
I’m sort of like
a trash woman
carrying around
my bastard children
around in my
suitcase ! Being
so conscious of
stuff and its real
materiality. But
also ideologically,
ideas of waste.”
