2-TIMES · Art
Joe Reihsen,
About Face
@ The Hole NYC
—

Digital maven
meets manual
laborer
’
—
In an abrupt
About Face
Reihsen turns
his attention to
representation –
backing away
from the abyss of
abstraction
to look
at each
stroke as
representational
element once more.

Reihsen's practice:

Skillfully integrates
elements of both
traditional painting
with contemporary
digital culture, to
create works that
feel deep & endless,
holographic at times,
and dynamically
futuristic.

The exhibition:
Is the LA-based
artist's first solo
in New York,
presenting a series
of new works
ranging in size
from three up to
twenty feet, which
are ‘so far out there
that they start to
turn back in and
resemble faces
’.
