2-TIMES · Art
Johannes Kahrs,
embrace’ @
Luhring Augustine
—

...people, objects,
or undefinable things
morph into particles
of a memory that
oppose waning
through Kahrs's
fluid & ethereal
brushstrokes.
”

The exhibition:

Features a series
of recent paintings
by the German artist,
best known for his
evocative paintings
which explore the
duality of images, both
as representations as
well as constructions.

His paintings are
often suffused
with undertones of
violence, death &
sexuality, where
the body appears
in mysterious and
equivocal situations

—
His interests, however,
lie within capturing
moments of fluidity
and elusiveness,
as opposed to
something fixed
or overtly political.
