2-TIMES • Art
László Moholy-Nagy
@ Hauser & Wirth
—
“Art sharpens one’s
senses, one’s view,
one’s mind and one’s
observations.”
Born:
1895, Hungary.
Curated by:
Daniel Hug — Director
of the Moholy-Nagy
Foundation, and
grandson of the
artist.
The exhibition:
Presents a series
of works by Moholy-
Nagy coinciding with
the centenary of the
Bauhaus in 2019;
spanning a period
from the early 1920's
to the 1940's revealing
a diverse practice that
defies categorisation,
moving fluidly
between disciplines
that encompassed
photography, painting,
sculpture, film & design.
“For the artist, the
use of geometric
forms, spray paint,
photomontage and
typography reflected
the dynamic experience
of living in the modern
era which required a
new visual language.”
