Ulla von Brandenburg,
‘Two Times Seven’
@ Art : Concept
—
“The shroud
of mystery is
beginning to lift,
but not entirely...”
The exhibition:
Is German-born
von Brandenburg's
4th solo with Galerie
Art : Concept in Paris,
featuring a series
of textile-based
compositions and
wooden structures —
both spread out or
fixed to the walls,
watercolors on wood,
and a film that
presents a succession
of veils or dresses of
undetermined origin.
‘Curtains, quilts,
costumes, ribbons…
Fabric, or more
precisely textile
material, circulates &
permeates Ulla von
Brandenburg’s oeuvre,
indiscriminately
embedding characters
and spaces within its
aesthetic qualities.’
Key themes:
The worlds of theatre,
folklore, and ritual.
