2-TIMES · Art
Adam Parker Smith,
‘Oblivious The Greek’
@ The Hole NYC
—

“Such an
archetype of
beauty, in every
museum of the
world, the
ubiquitous white
Greek marbles –
so aesthetically
influential over
centuries, but
made to be
painted.”

‘Oblivious
The Greek’:
Is Adam Parker
Smith's
first solo
exhibition at The
Hole
, for which the
New York-based
artist has carefully
crafted an ersatz
sculpture garden,
featuring synthetic
wall works presented
alongside mylar-
inflated sculptures
arranged on rocks
on a gravelled
gallery floor.

The idea:

Illusion via
adversity.
The outcome
is still beautiful –
the circumstances
or materials used
are less important.
