2-TIMES · Art
Jeff Elrod,
This Brutal World
@ Luhring Augustine
—

Examining the
dichotomy between
traditional painterly
space and the
virtual space of
the computer

Inspired by:
90's supergraphics
&
video game imagery.

‘This Brutal World’:
Presents concurrent
solo exhibitions,
featuring new
paintings by American
artist Jeff Elrod at
Luhring Augustine's
Chelsea & Bushwick
galleries.

Elrod's practice:
Using both Adobe
Photoshop and
Illustrator, the
Texas-born artist
creates ‘frictionless
digital drawings that
he then renders onto
shaped canvasses
by hand with tape
and acrylic paint.
Jeff's paintings are
also often formed by
printing reworked
digitized imagery
directly onto canvas
via inkjet printer.
